How to Use Buyer Reviews to Write Better Etsy Listings

How buyers compare your product to alternatives they’ve tried. These are your differentiators, in buyer language.

"doesn’t smell like department store candles"

"actually fits better than store-bought"

Step 3: Extract the vocabulary list

From your highlights, create a vocabulary list — 10-20 specific phrases that appeared in buyer language. These aren’t concepts. They’re exact phrases.

A candle shop’s vocabulary list after review mining might look like: “doesn’t smell fake,” “clean scent,” “not overpowering,” “teacher gift,” “ships gift ready,” “better than photos,” “long lasting.” These phrases belong in the listing title, description, and tags.

Step 4: Apply to your listing copy

Here’s the transformation for a candle listing, using only language extracted from real reviews:
